Crown Prince Salman says collaboration will allies is required to confront terrorism

Manama: Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa has stressed the role of inclusive national development in undermining extremist causes and motivations.
The Crown Prince, also his country’s First Deputy Premier, also highlighted the importance of international collaboration to confront terrorism.
The international community should ensure that the tools and mechanisms required to address terrorism and extremism are readily available, Prince Salman said as he attended a counter-terrorism seminar held as part of the defence and security cooperation with the US, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) said.
“His Royal Highness also highlighted that continuing coordination is essential to tackling all forms of terrorism, and called for the further development of strategies that effectively address it in all its forms,” the official news agency said.
“His Royal Highness also affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to protecting the stability and safety of the region and to furthering ties with its key allies,” it added.
The Crown Prince reiterated the importance of the ongoing military coordination between Bahrain and the US, particularly in countering terrorism and maintaining regional stability.
“This is a shared goal for Bahrain, its Gulf Cooperation Council [GCC] neighbours, and the United States,” Prince Salman said.
Bahrain and the US have close cooperation and the US Fifth Fleet has been headquartered in Manama for decades.
US Navy admirals have stressed in separate statements over the last few months their commitment to Bahrain and to the Gulf region.
